Clear Science Inc.’s www.clearscienceinc.com ROV (remotely operated vehicles) division may be new, but they are eager to expand their presence from the First Coast to the Gulf Coast and beyond.
The principle, Bruce W. Ford, began consulting with key clients in 2001 and formally established CSI in 2003 to provide meteorology and oceanography expertise. The company has served agencies including the U.S. Navy, Naval Postgraduate School and the Marine Advanced Technical Education Center.
After a decade of substantial success, CSI is proud to launch a new ROV division dedicated to assisting numerous industries and scientific research in underwater inspection.
Although the division is set to officially launch August 1, CSI has been available to requests related to the Gulf oil spill as early as June 28. Ford said CSI’s new technology could examine wildlife, survey environmental damages and locate shallow water plumes.
ROVs allow a responsive and cost-effective means of conducting underwater inspections. They remove the risk of life and litigation organizations face when they involve live divers. Although divers are essential to some underwater tasks, ROVs can reduce the amount of time they are submerged saving time, money and hazard.
Ford said he is hoping to assist with the oil disaster but is confident in the ROVs’ future presence in industries both here and abroad.
Although Ford is busy with the growth of CSI, he still makes time for his secret life as a dulcimer performer. On the weekends he is busy traveling to play and sing in concerts. He is also the owner of www.everythingdulcimer.com where he shares his passion and knowledge of the art through self authored articles, blogs and concert events.
